The Leica Disto A3 meter is a Laser measuring meter, it isn't Ultrasonic and will not give inaccurate results. Ultra sonic meters measure up to 20m and emit a inaudible sound that bounces off objects. The unit then calculates the time it took for the sound to bounce back and gives a distance reading. This isn't an ideal scenario and rarely gives accurate results. Objects in a room like sofas and fireplaces often cause these types of in accurate results. The Leica Disto A3 uses Patented laser Swiss technology and is made to the highest of standards making Ultrasonic's a thing of the past.
